Mike Barclift ChFC®, CLU®

Mike Barclift is a North Carolina native, born in Ft Bragg, NC into an Air Force military family and spent much of his early years living in different locations in the US and overseas in the UK. He attended the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD and upon graduation and commissioning in 1983 he began his 21-year career as a Surface Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy. After retiring from active duty service, he immediately entered the financial services profession and has been in continuous practice since then as a Financial Advisor.

Mike is married and his wife Jane is also a retired naval officer with 26 years of distinguished service. They make their home in the West Ghent neighborhood of Norfolk, Virginia where they have resided for over 25 years. Their son Cameron is a graduate of Tufts University and works as a software engineer and team lead.

Mike is an avid recreational sailor and skier. He also enjoys playing volleyball and golf with friends and colleagues, reading military history and science fiction books, and staying involved in the local community.
